I was going so strong in November but then the Reading Slump hit me.
So, I ended up reading 9 books even though my goal was to read at least 10 books this month. I started reading the 10th book but couldn’t finish it on time.
As already said, I was going strong, reading books without a break and I also ended up binge reading a series which, by the way, is a reason of my reading slump.
So the beautiful series that happened to bless me with a reading slump is Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi.
I read this series and fell in love with the first book and took a 24 hours break (more like I-tried-hard-to-resist-but-failed-miserably) from it and then picked up the second book. Which I finished in less than 24 hours. Then after a few hours, I picked up the third book. I also finished it in less than 24 hours. I’m guessing that you understand my reading slump now, right? Anyway, I tried to read to any book but none of them were interesting enough. So, I ended up not reading anything for more than a week. It was terrible.
Another thing; this month, I structured my TBR not according to the books I want to read but according to the categories/challenges or anything that I like or wanna reach out more. Some are not categories but more like my challenges for November… I don’t know how to explain but I’m sure you’ll understand it.
The Books I Read in November are:
(Click the title to read my review.)
- milk and honey by Rupi Kaur
- This Is My Brain on Boys by Sarah Strohmeyer
- …And a Happy New Year? (The Spinster Club, #3.5) by Holly Bourne
- Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella
- The Forbidden Wish (The Forbidden Wish #1) by Jessica Khoury
- Shatter Me (Shatter Me #1) by Tahereh Mafi
- Unravel Me (Shatter Me, #2) by Tahereh Mafi
- Ignite Me (Shatter Me, #3) by Tahereh Mafi
- P.S. I Like You by Kasie West
Here are the Challenges:
(I’ll be tick marking the ones I have completed.)
- Book on my TBR for a long time!
I started a book but couldn’t finish it on time.
- Contemporary ✔
- Standalone Fantasy ✔
- Finish a series
I wanted to finish Percy Jackson series this month and I even tried to pick it up but couldn’t read it. I wasn’t in a mood for it at that time.
I bought this Urdu book called Pari Zaad and it’s about this man who has been bullied since he was a kid because of his darker complexion and because his name is Pari Zaad – which means beautiful – people taunt and make fun of him more. Sadly, I couldn’t get to it this month but I’ll try to read it next month.
- Mental Health ✔
- Retelling ✔
- Binge read a Series ✔
This was my November Wrap-up. I really enjoyed the goals part. It was quite motivating and because of it, I read 9 books. And I’m sure I’ll be doing the same for December. I’d love it if you guys suggest me more books or genres for my TBR next month. ❤
So, I know I haven’t been really active lately but that’s because I fell in a blogging slump. Every time I tried to write a post or a review, my mind went blank and I forgot all the words existing in the English language. And because of it, 6 unpublished and unedited reviews have piled up and are now haunting me. I also didn’t want to force myself to write it because I don’t want blogging to become a chore. I’m also really sorry for not answering your comments. I’m going to try my best to be active again.
Thanks for always staying by my side, you beautiful people!
